TM Manish uses great logic in his script for the role of Ah Counter to inspire people. He makes a valid point as to why we should focus on our usage of filler words. Read his submission below.
RELATED: How to do the role of Ah Counter?

We have all signed up for some path in Pathways. I am in engaging humor, trying to perfect the inner stand up comedian in me. Someone might be in Effective Coaching; others may have signed up for Visionary communication or persuasive influence.
Can you imagine anyone excelling in these roles with too many crutch words in their performances? A stand up comedian who mutters “umm”, or a persuasive speaker who uses “but” in loop or worse a visionary communication who keeps repeating “you know.”
That is why in Toastmasters, we have an Ah Counter whose role is to keep a track of these crutch words used by the speakers in the meeting. I will make a note of your crutch word usage today and present my reports towards the end of the meeting so that we may all begin excelling in our chosen paths.
