RELATED: How to do the role of Ah Counter?

When I delivered my first speech in Toastmasters, the Ah Counter report had 15 tally marks against my name. That’s 15 Ahs in a five minute speech, an average of one every 20 seconds. My ice breaker had more “ahs” than the word I. Thanks to the reminders in every meeting by successive Ah counters my last speech had just two of them.

That is my goal for today – to help you in reducing your filler words just like I did. As the Ah Counter today, I will keep a score of all the filler words such as Ah, umm, like, you know, basically, etc. used by the speakers and role players during the meet. I will let you know your count in the third session so that like me, you may reduce them too.
