TM Ankita from Mumbai calls filler words one of the many imperfections humans have. And she also suggests a way to overcome this imperfection – the Ah counter in Toastmasters. Here’s a script that puts all of this into beautiful words. Take a look.
RELATED: How to do the role of Ah Counter?
Our filler words make us human because humans are an imperfect bunch. And we spend a lifetime correcting our imperfections, don’t we? In Toastmasters, we help you correct your filler words. Every session has an Ah Counter whose role is to keep a track of all the filler words such as ahh, umm, like, you know etc. used by the speakers in the session. I will prepare this report and present it when called upon by the General Evaluator so that you can right them and take a step closer to perfection.
