You wouldn’t want to waste TM Ethan’s time. He is very vocal about it as you will see in this script for the role of Timer. TM Ethan is from Calgary and this is his first submission. Take a look.
RELATED: How to do the role of Timer?

Do you know what the easiest way to spoil someone’s mood is? Just waste their time. Keep them waiting at a restaurant or show them a third rated movie or make them listen to a needlessly long, beaten around the bush talk. If you are not careful, the third example can be you and you would be spoiling a whole lot of people’s mood. That is why in Toastmasters, we help you time your speeches and as the timer today, I will alert you about your time limits.
For the prepared speeches, the time limit is 5 to 7 minutes. At the end of 5 minutes, I will flash the green card, followed by yellow at 6 and red at the end of 7 minutes.
For the Table Topic Session, the time limit is 1 to 2 minutes. At the end of 1 minute, I will flash the green card, followed by yellow at 1.5 and red at the end of 2 minutes.
For the Speech Evaluations, the time limit is 2 to 3 minutes. At the end of 2 minutes, I will flash the green card, followed by yellow at 2.5 and red at the end of 3 minutes.
There is a grace time of 30 seconds after the red card is flashed each time to wrap up your speeches.
I will come back with my report towards the end of the meeting.
