An Ah Counter script with a great insight

TM Ava from Ottawa has knocked it off the park with this little script for the role of Ah counter. We all know that table topic speakers generally use more filler words in comparison to prepared speakers. TM Ava presents the logic behind this in introducing her role as the Ah counter. Take a look.

Have you noticed that every time the Ah counter presents their report, the prepared speakers have significantly less filler words than table topic speakers? That’s not a co incidence. We utter filler words when our brain needs time to process our next few words, something a prepared speaker wouldn’t need to. But a good public speaker is one who doesn’t let their audience know this little secret by training himself/herself to eliminate their filler words. The Ah counter in Toastmasters helps you do exactly this. As the Ah counter today, I too will present a report on all the filler words used in today’s meeting so that you may check where you stand currently and work to improve upon it.
