Here is a fantastic description for the role of Ah Counter by TM Alok from Delhi. TM Alok has beautifully described how a great speech should look vs how most speeches look. Read his submission below.

A great speech should pack some insightful stories at the center and have a great message around the corner. Sadly most speeches pack ahs and ums in the center and a “basically” in every corner. These words dilute the impact of the message in your speech. In Toastmasters, we help our members get rid of such words from all nooks and corners of their speeches. As the Ah Counter today, I will keep a track of all filler words you use and present it in a report towards the end of the meeting so that you know what you have to work on.
