Human beings are an eccentric bunch. And one of our eccentricities is filler words. We are the only species who have evolved to use languages containing thousands and thousands of beautiful words. Yet when we speak, we tend to make sounds such as ah, umm, err etc. that have no meaning, or worse, use words repeatedly that are out of place such as actually, like, but etc. Since we are such an intelligent species, let’s behave like one by getting rid of this eccentricity. And as the Ah Counter today, I will help you in this endeavor. I will keep a track of all such words uttered by our speakers today and present my report towards the end of the meeting so that you may know what to work on.
