Here is a wonderful script for the role of a Grammarian submitted by TM Nikhil from Bengaluru. Have a look.
RELATED: How to do the role of a Grammarian?
Public speaking invites public attention. As the public speaker, you would naturally want the public’s attention on your message and ideas, not anywhere else. Incorrect language or wrong pronunciation can be an attention stealer. Remember when Donald Trump tweeted “covfefe” instead of “coffee” or when Rahul Gandhi said “This morning I woke up in the night.” Errors like these can overshadow the entire message of the speech.
Therefore every Toastmasters meeting has a Grammarian. As the Grammarian today, I will record all the good usage of English, good phrases, words, idioms etc. and also the not so good usage and incorrect pronunciations so that we can work upon them.
I am also supposed to give you the word of the day. It’s “paradigm”
It’s a noun that means “a typical example or pattern of something”
An example of the word’s use is –
Society’s paradigm of gender roles
I hope everyone uses this word to the maximum. I will be back with my report towards the end of the meeting. Thank You.
Thank you so much TM Nikhil for this wonderful submission. If you have a script or idea for any role in Toastmasters, do let us know here.
