The Timer’s role like all other roles witnessed a drastic change in online meetings. TM Nisha from Mumbai has the perfect script to emphasize on this. Have a look.

As mankind progressed, so did our device to keep time – from sundials to giant clock towers to wrist watches to eventually mobile phones. We here at Toastmasters have kept pace with changing times as well – from colored flags in our physical meetings to colored slides in online ones. As the timer today, I will share colored slides to alert you about your time.
For the Prepared Speech section, the time allotted is 5 to 7 minutes. At 5 minutes I will share the green slide, at 6 the yellow and at 7 the red slide.
For the Table Topic session the time allotted is 1 to 2 minutes. At 1 minute, I will share the green slide, at 1.5 the yellow and at 2 the red slide.
And for the speech evaluations, the time limit is 2 to 3 minutes. At 2 minutes, I will share the green card, at 2.5 the yellow and at 3 minutes the red slide.
There is a grace period of 30 seconds after the red slide is shared each time to wrap up your speech.
I hope the all the speakers strive to be within their allotted time limits. I will come back with my report towards the end of the meeting.
