Here is an amazing script for the role of Ah counter submitted by TM Oliver from New York. If you are a big fan of the show “How I met your mother” this script will rewind your memories of the show in a jiffy. Have a look.

In an episode from the popular sitcom “How I met your mother”, the gorgeous news anchor Robin was elated to know that college students were big fans of her show. To her utter dismay, she later learnt that the only reason they watched her show was for a drinking game they invented. Every time she said “but um”, the students took a shot making for an engaging drinking game.
Fellow Toastmasters, people notice your filler words and when there are too many of them, that’s all they notice. Unless you happen to be the bar owner, that’s not a desirable end goal.
That is why every meeting in Toastmasters has an Ah counter. As the Ah counter today my role is to keep a track of filler words such as ah, umm, err, and crutch words such as like, but, basically etc. you use while speaking. I will make a note of the same and present my report towards the end of the meeting.
That is indeed the perfect script for the role of Ah Counter in Toastmasters. Thank you TM Oliver for this submission.
