An Ah counter script inspired from the “skip ad” button

TM Manish from Delhi has made this inspired submission for the role of an Ah counter. As the title suggests, it is inspired from the “skip ad button” in online services like YouTube and Spotify. Have a look.

Nobody likes interruptions. The lightning speed with which you click skip ad button on YouTube is a proof. No wonder people pay money to YouTube and Spotify to get rid of interruptions.

Sadly, when speaking on stage, your filler words are interruptions and there is no skip button. In fact, too much of the filler words can propel people to skip your entire message.

As an Ah counter today I will help you in getting rid of these interruptions. I will keep a track of filler words such as ah, umm, err, and crutch words such as like, you know, basically etc. you use while speaking, so that you may identify what’s interrupting your audience. I will present my report towards the end of the meeting.

Thank You TM Manish for this submission. If you have a script for any role in Toastmasters, do let us know here.
