Timer script and log

TM Manish from Delhi has made this submission for the role of a timer. Accompanying the script is a log sheet or timer sheet to record the time of various speakers in the meeting. (Please note – this log records only speakers. Some clubs time role players as well. If your club does, you may edit the log)

Time is one of the most common metric to measure success in many fields. The time it took to finish a race, or to develop a new technology or to get over your ex determines who is ahead in the game.

In Toastmasters too, time determines who becomes eligible for voting. Every section has pre-defined set of time limits and I will help you track the same.

For the prepared speech section, the time allotted is 5 to 7 minutes. At 5 minutes I will flash the green card, at 6 the yellow and at 7 the red card.

For the Table Topic session the time allotted is 1 to 2 minutes. At 1 minute, I will flash the green card, at 1.5 the yellow and at 2 the red card.

And for the speech evaluations, the time limit is 2 to 3 minutes. At 2 minutes, I will flash the green card, at 2.5 the yellow and at 3 minutes the red card.

There is a grace period of 30 seconds after the red card is flashed each time to wrap up your speech.

I hope all speakers adhere to the allotted time limits so that we all come out ahead in today’s session.

Here is a timer sheet to record the time of speakers.

Thank you TM Manish for this submission. If you have a script for any role in Toastmasters, you can let us know here.
