TM Preeti from Delhi has drafted this script for Ah Counter that toys with harmless word classism. A nice strategy to draw the attention of club members and give them a jolt. Have a look.

Did you know that the English language has about 170000 words that are in use currently? Some of these words are really beautiful like privileged, fragrance or opportunity. At the risk of being labeled a classist, let me tell you there are words that really make no sense like ah, um, err while others such as “like, you know, but” are outright banal. No wonder they are called filler words – a banal phrase to define a collection of banal words.
At Toastmasters, we help you make your speech classy by avoiding these words. As an Ah counter, I will keep a track of all the filler words used by the speakers today and present my report towards the end of the meeting.
Thank You TM Preeti for this wonderful submission. If you have creative script for any such role in Toastmasters, do let us know here.
