Logic is the best weapon to convince someone of your views. TM Vivek from Hyderabad has prepared this script for an Ah counter with some irrefutable logic added. Have a look.
People always appreciate the good things around them. They praise a good perfume you wear; your family will praise a good meal you prepare; in fact even strangers would praise a beautiful song you sing. But have you ever heard anyone praising the ums and errs someone uses when speaking? Did anyone ever come up to you and said “those filler words you used when expressing your ideas were amazing.”? I guess not.
Evidently filler words aren’t very pleasant. And just like we would take efforts to remove an unpleasant odor in our house, a good public speaker must also take efforts to remove these filler words in his or her speeches.
As an Ah counter today, I will help you in this endeavor. My role is to keep a track of all the filler words such as ah, umm, err, you know, like etc. as well as pauses used by speakers today while on the stage. I will present my report towards the end of the meeting when called upon.
